FAMILY LAW
Family law cases from submission to decision can take between 6 months to 1 year depending on whether the courts require more than the standard two hearings. Normally for a Child Arrangements Order or Financial Remedy application the court will set two hearings, the first being a Dispute Resolution Appointment after which a Final Hearing will be set. However often in disputed cases the court may require further Fact Finding hearings which will extend the resolution time.
Divorce cases range between 4 to 8 months depending on the speed of the Respondent’s response time once the petition is issued.
